We go for sustainable certifications and network engagements

With Domo^® Sports Grass, you can count on a partner with valuable sustainable certifications within their environmental & social management system. Certificates in sustainability are the building blocks within our commitment to a greener future. They are the reward for our continuous efforts and provide transparency for you as a customer or stakeholder.

In addition, we participate in several sustainable networks. We are committed to working with like-minded organisations, sharing knowledge and best practices with them in the field of sustainability. Read more about all our certifications in sustainability and commitments below.

Certificates on the general management system

In recognition of our efforts within our overall management system, we are ISO certified. We have achieved the sustainable certifications ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. These certifications together with our Ecovadis Gold position are proof of our commitment to the highest standards.

Ecovadis Gold

As of 2021, Domo^® Sports Grass can present itself to you with a gold medal from EcoVadis. This is an assessment platform that evaluates companies based on their sustainability management system. The result placed the sustainability efforts of Sports & Leisure Group, which includes Domo^® Sports Grass, in the top 3% of all businesses in the sector. For this reason, they awarded us with the Ecovadis gold medal.

ISO 9001 - 14001 certified

Since 1996, you have a partner that operates according to the standards of recognised quality norms and is an ISO 9001-certified organisation. More recently, the ISO 14001 certificate was also obtained. These certifications in sustainability demonstrate to you that we keep optimising our processes with an eye on results and our employees. It proves that we manage environmental risks, prevent them where possible and continuously improve environmental performance.

Certificates on carbon reduction

The goal of the EU Green Deal regarding the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions is clear:

Reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 55% ( vs 1990) by 2030
To be climate neutral by 2050.

CO₂ became therefore a very important topic in our sector. Our ambition is to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by 25% by 2025. We want to achieve this goal with following actions:

Offering artificial grass made with biobased materials (sugar cane)
Encouraging our colleagues to help with simple actions: turning off lights and appliances at the end of the working day, not leaving doors and windows open in winter, sorting waste, and making sustainable material choices.
Working on our own produced energy with solar panels supplemented by green electricity
CO₂-reducing practices such as using 100% renewable energy, sustainable vehicles and LED lighting.
Having a Climate Neutral Certified production by Climate Neutral Group: thanks to our CO₂ reduction efforts in combination with supporting the *REDD+ Forest Conservation project in Brazil.

CO₂ Performance Ladder

The CO₂ Performance Ladder is a tool to guide organisations in reducing their carbon emissions in their business activities. The Ladder's primary goal is to motivate organisations to understand their CO₂ emissions and to continuously seek ways to reduce them, both within the organisation and its projects.To achieve the sustainable certificate, you have to:

Calculate your CO2 footprint
Determine carbon reducing business activities
Communicate these activities internally

Climate- Neutral Certified

Climate- Neutral Certified is a label owned by Climate Neutral Group and issued by independent auditors. Being Climate- Neutral Certified as an organisation means that you can demonstrate that you are taking active steps to both reduce your CO₂ emissions from business activities and offset the remaining unavoidable CO₂ emissions with verified high-quality projects.

Certificates on creating circular economy

Our long-term goal is to completely eliminate waste and create value from it in both directions of the supply chain. To put this ambition into action, your football products can be made from ISCC Plus certified post-consumer recycled material on demand.

ISCC Plus certified

ISCC Plus Certified (International Sustainability & Carbon Certificate) provides a scheme for organic and recycled materials from food packaging, chemicals, plastics, and textiles.

Certificates on Social Responsibility

Employees play a key role in our way of doing business. Their safety and well-being are prioritized. Our efforts earned us PSO and VCA/SCC certificates for social entrepreneurship in The Netherlands.

SCC-VCA

SCC stands for Safety, Health, and Environment. This is a programme with which companies are structurally and objectively tested and certified for their management on working methods on safety, health, and environment. The VCA certificate helps employees in high-risk work environments to perform their work safely and healthily.

PSO

The performance ladder for more social entrepreneurship (PSO) is a Dutch certification that indicates the extent to which the organisation scores above the average in the field of social enterprise. This is mainly aimed at the participation of vulnerable groups in the labour market. There are several performance levels within this certification. Domo^® Sports Grass is at the highest performance level 3, this means that you have a partner that is one of the leaders in the field of employment for the PSO target group.

Sustainable Networks

To continuously improve and learn from our own and other sectors, we are members of the EMEA Synthetic Turf Council (ESTC) and have joined the sustainability network The Shift.

The Shift

In 2022, Sports & Leisure Group, which includes Domo^® Sports Grass, joined The Shift. This is a Belgian sustainability network where all different actors can meet and help each other. The organisation offers a place where companies, governments and other NGOs can exchange sustainable ideas and learn from each other. The Shift has grown into the largest Belgian sustainability network and brings together more than 530 companies from over 25 different sectors. The success of the organisation lies in the three core pillars: Connect, Commit and Change.

UN Global Compact

Since 2021, Sports & Leisure Group, which includes Domo^® Sports Grass, has been committed to the United Nations Global Compact corporate responsibility initiative and its principles in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption.

EMEA Synthetic Turf Council (ESTC)

As a member of the ESTC, we support their mission to serve, promote, develop, grow, and advocate for our industry in the EMEA region. The ESTC is a significant organization that plays a vital role in promoting the growth and development of the industry while ensuring the safe and sustainable use of synthetic turf. They guide us in making sustainable choices and achieving a balance between the environment and the needs of players. We continuously monitor and learn from our sector and others to innovate and develop the industry.
